Trafficking in persons is a serious crime and a grave violation of human rights. Every year, thousands of men, women and children fall into human trafficking. It is said that 12.3 million people are trafficked worldwide. On average, only 1 person is convicted for every 800 trafficking cases worldwide (All material  © 2014). Human Trafficking is the illegal trade of human beings for commercial sexual exploitation or forced labor. During the medieval times human trafficking was introduced to the world, Anyone could have been a victim. Most of the victims are undocumented or were illegally residing in the US. That doesn’t exclude US citizens from becoming victims. The reason attackers went for undocumented citizens were because no one will go†¦show more content†¦This involves prostitution, pornography, and erotic entertainment. Human trafficking is much different than sexual assault, molestation and rape. Sex trafficking involves â€Å"Commercial sex† which the Federal Trafficking Victims Protection Act defines as the giving or receiving of anything of value to anyone in exchange for sex. Sex traffickers mostly target women and younger girls but it can also include boys Sex traffickers frequently target vulnerable people with histories of abuse and use violence, threats, lies, false promises, and\or other forms of control and manipulation to keep victims involved in the sex industry. These children usually come from homes where they have been abused or families that have abandoned them. They often get the young girls to fall into prostitution to support themselves financially or to get the things they fell they need or want such as drugs. Most places that use sex trafficking are hostess clubs, online escort services, strip clubs, and fake massage businesses. Another form of Human Trafficking is forced labour, also known as â€Å"Sweat Shops†. Forced labor is a practice of brutal labor exacted by a state or by agencies of a state, other than as a punishment for a criminal offence. This is common in French, German, Belgian, Portuguese and Spanish colonies in Africa. Children below the age of 18 years represent an estimated 26% of all forced labor victims.
